About Us
Who runs TEDxMIST, what it is, and how to reach the people behind it.
1.The event
You make it, it leaves, and for a while you hear nothing at all. Then it returns, carrying everything it touched on the way. TEDxMIST is the first TEDx event ever held at the Military Institute of Science and Technology, a campus full of people who build things that will outlast them.
It takes place on 21 January 2027, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Shaheed Yamin Auditorium, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
2.What a TEDx event is
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a programme of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx programme, but individual TEDx events are self-organized, subject to certain rules and regulations.
3.Who we are
TEDxMIST is organized independently by students of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). It is not run by, funded by, or speaking for the institute, and the views of our speakers are their own.
4.Our licence
This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED. The licence is a University licence, which sets the rules we run under, including how the event is named and branded and how large the audience may be.
